Common questions
Do I need a GP referral?
No. Book directly with us and our pharmacist will assess you at your appointment.
How far in advance should I book?
Ideally 6–8 weeks before you travel, as some vaccines need more than one dose. Yellow fever needs to be given at least 10 days before you arrive for your certificate to be valid. If you’re leaving sooner, come in anyway: we can often still help.
What should I bring?
Your travel dates and itinerary, any previous vaccination records, and a list of any medicines you take.
Can I get travel vaccines free on the NHS?
Some, including hepatitis A, typhoid, cholera and the diphtheria, tetanus and polio booster, may be available free from your GP surgery. Others, such as yellow fever, rabies and Japanese encephalitis, are only available privately. We’ll tell you at your consultation so you only pay for what you need.
Do you supply malaria tablets?
Yes. Our pharmacist will recommend the most suitable tablets for your destination, your health and how long you’re away. Prices start from £20.
